Motorcycle Communication Systems 101

Motorcycle Communication Systems 101

Long gone are the days of gigantic batteries and tangles of wires to talk with other riders or a passenger while riding. 21st century manufacturers have changed the game for motorcycle communication systems, and there are more options than ever before– and all wireless!

The Cardo Packtalk Bold is a staff favorite that is frequently recommended by Parts Manager Brandon, and fits in most helmets. With mesh connection to multiple units and a long line-of-sight connection distance, the Cardo Packtalk Bold has a lot to offer. Users can use the Cardo app on any smartphone to operate music, navigation, and even phone calls via voice commands, and the JBL speakers offer great sound for users.

A great fit for Shoei’s touring motorcycle helmets like the GT-Air II and Neotec II is the Sena SRL2 and SRL Mesh, which slot directly into pre-made slots in the helmets for a perfect fit. With great speakers and a low profile fit, the SRL series is a great fit for touring riders. Sena units also pair easily with the BMW TFT display and ConnectedRide App.

If you’re rocking a Schuberth motorcycle helmet, we highly recommend using a communication system designed for that helmet. Similar to the Sena SRL series, Schuberth’s comm systems install seamlessly into the helmet and connect easily to a smart phone, other units, or the BMW TFT display.

All of these and more are available in our showroom, and with purchase we are happy to install motorcycle communication units in your helmet.
